India administers record one crore COVID vaccine doses in one day, PM lauds

New Delhi : Achieving a major milestone in the journey of immunization against Covid-19, India inoculated over 1 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines on Friday.

Total 1,00,64,376 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered till 2200 hrs today, according to the data shown on the CoWIN platform.

This is the record number of doses the country has administered since the launch of the Covid-19 vaccination program.
Uttar Pradesh was the top state to administer over 28 lakh vaccines today.

With this, August has turned out to be the biggest vaccination month for India with figures crossing 15 crores of vaccines doses so far. In July, India had administered 13.5 crore doses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the record vaccination numbers today and said crossing 1 crore is a ‘momentous feat’.

In a tweet, Modi said: “Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success.”
