Heavy rain for 2 more days

Bhubaneswar : Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied
by thunderstorm activity for 2 more days under the influence of the a low-pressure area over south west Gangetic West Bengal, which is expected to slowly move west-northwestwards across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh during the next 2 days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rain along with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph for one or two places in Mayurbhanj districts on Tuesday (July 8).Heavy rain, thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-
40 kmph may also occur at one or two places in Keonjhar, Sundargarh , Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, and Boudh. There is also a yellow warning of thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur.On Wednesday (July 9), heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/ lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely at one or two places in Kalahandi, Nuapada , Balangir , Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, and Koraput. Thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed
reaching 30-40 kmph may also occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur,
Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal. Light to moderate may continue for the next 3 days. The intensity of spells is likely to gradually increase with heavy rain across the state from July 13, the national forecaster added.
