Chennai : Hours after ISRO’s GSLV-F10 failed to place the agile earth observation satellite EOS-03 into the Geostationary orbit due to non-ignition of the cryogenic stage, Union Minister of State in PMO and in-charge of Department of Space Jitendra Singh said the mission can be rescheduled some time again.
The rare failure for ISRO comes on the day of the birth anniversary of first ISRO Chairman Dr Vikram Sarabhai, who is also one of the founding fathers of India’s space programme.
In a tweet after the failure of the GSLV-F10/EOS-03 mission about five minutes after lift off from the Second Launch Pad the SHAR Range, about 100 km from here today morning, Mr Singh said he held detailed discussion with ISRO Chairman Dr K Sivan about the mission.
The first two stages went off fine and only that there was a difficulty in cryogenic upper stage ignition, he said.
“Spoke to Chairman #ISRO, Dr K Sivan and discussed in detail. The first two stages went off fine, only after that there was a difficulty in cryogenic upper stage ignition. The mission can be re-scheduled some time again,” Mr.Singh said.
In another tweet, Mr Singh paid glowing tributes to Dr Vikram Sarabhai on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
“On the Birth Anniversary of the first #ISRO Chairman Dr Vikram Sarabhai, humble tribute to one of the founding fathers of India’s Space programme.
The ambitious dream for India that Sarabhai saw sitting in his primitive scientific set up, stands gloriously vindicated today”, he added.
