Paradip: The Kalinga Baliyatra Festival is celebrated on the occasion of Kartik Purnima to remembering of the ancient Utkal sea trading tradition and heritage. The port city of Paradip will once again hold the historic Kalinga Baliyatra Festival from November 26 to December 3,2023. This year the festival will celebrate with a grand manner. In this context, a ground- breaking (Bhoomi Puja) ceremony was held at Biju Maidan Baliyatra ground at Paradip sea beach on Wednesday. Niranjan Behera, Vice Chairman of the Kalinga Baliyatra Committee (KBC) and Paradip Additional District Magistrate (ADM) participated in the ground-breaking rituals. Many members of the Kalinga Baliyatra Committee were present. Among others Paradip Municipal chairperson Basant Biswal, Pradeep Kumar Saha, EO, Paradip Municipality, Baliyatra Committee members Sumanta Biswal, Mayadhar Rout,Pradip Kumar Sahu, Ullash Biswal and many others were present on the occasion. Speaking to the media,the vice chairperson of Kalinga Baliyatra Committee (KBC) Mr. Behera informed that extensive preparations are being made by the Baliyatra Committee to make the current Bali Yatra festival more attractive and colorful. Besides, Municipality chairman Mr. Biswal said that the festival ground preparations started from today after the Bhumi Puja.
