FM presents Budget 2022-23 in State Assembly. Pro-Poor Budget: Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the Rs 2 lakh crore full-fledged state budget for 2022-23 financial year in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday, the first day of the monsoon session. Here are the key highlights: Ÿ Odisha Government allocates Rs 911 crore for sports sector including Rs 719 crore for development of infra, Rs 115 crore for promoting sports education and Rs 11 crore towards State’s contribution to Khelo India.
Ÿ Rs 1,325 crore allocated for ABADHAscheme Ÿ Rs 200 crore each allocated for EKAMRA & SAMALEI schemes Ÿ Rs 150 crore allocated under Integrated Development of Heritage and Monuments and Tourist Destinations scheme
Ÿ Rs 2,000 crore allocated for Mission Shakti Department Ÿ Rs 700 crore allocated for MUKTA scheme Odisha Government to spend Rs 312 crore for development of horticulture and Rs 700 crore for MUKTA scheme Ÿ Rs 50 crore allocated to promote use of electric vehicles (EVs) Ÿ Rs 1874 crore allocated for Kalia Yojana Ÿ Rs 646 crore allocated for Mo School Abhiyan Ÿ Rs 3581 crore allocated for Samagra Shiksha Ÿ Rs 851 allocated for Mid Day Meal
Scheme Ÿ Rs 100 crore allocated for high school transformation programme odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has explained the State Budget for the financial year 2022-23, presented today by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari in Assembly, a progressive, pro-poor and development oriented Budget. Hailing the Budget, the Chief Minister said that the priority has been given to create quality healthcare facilities,quality education including school transformation , life and livelihoods , women empowerment as well as infrastructure development. The Budget size has increased to Rs.2 l akh c ror e and the Programme Budget to Rs.1 lakh crore. The capital spending will increase by more than 56%, which will foster growth The Separate Budget for Mission Shakti with allocation of Rs.2000 crore will further deepen our engagement with 70 lakh women of our State, the CM said. He said, “Our initiative to create a “Budget Stabilization Fund” will help in mitigating any revenue shock in future. The budget is in line with our transformational agenda under “5T” and “Mo Sarakar”. This Budget will meet the aspiration of the people of the State, the CM added.
