BJD MP Demands Inclusion of three tribal Languages in 8th Schedule

New Delhi: Biju Janata Dal MP Dr. Sasmit Patra today demanded the inclusion of Ho, Mundari and Bhumij languages in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. In his second term as member of Rajya Sabha, Dr. Patra has raised the issue for the first time in the House through a Spe c i a l Mention notice. Speaking in Odia, the BJD MP raised this demand which is close to the hearts of lakhs of tribal brothers and sisters in Odisha who speak these languages. Santhali language is already a part of the 8th Sc h e d u l e . Sp e c i a l Mention Notices have to b e r e a d fr om t h e approved text and not spoken extempore as per rules of Rajya Sabha.
