Hyderabad : BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP on Friday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for taking necessary measures to airlift oxygen tankers by warplanes from Odisha for the seriously ill Covid-19 patients in the state.
In a release here, Mr Sanjay said that the warplanes, carrying 8 empty oxygen tankers, departed from Begumpet Airport to Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
About 14.5 metric tonnes of oxygen will reach Telangana by Air from Bhubaneswar, he added.
He said “It is a welcome step and it is the first time in the country oxygen tankers is being brought by Air quickly”.
Mr Kumar said, Mr Modi’s government is working tirelessly to contain the second wave of Coronavirus that came like a Tsunami in the country.
On one hand, the Prime Minister is trying to control the surge in COVID-19 cases and on the other he is working to provide all kind of support to the patients suffering with Coronavirus.
Similarly, the Central Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Surface Transport, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Defence has formulated an action plan to provide immediate oxygen supply to all places, the release added.
