Acche Din has come to Odisha: Shah

Cuttack, Aug 8 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said “achhe din” has come to Odisha as he envisaged a bright future and huge scope for development of the state with the long coastline, rich mineral deposits, rich culture and traditions and abundant human resources. “Acche Din” has come to Odisha with several Odia personalities holding key positions in the country, Shah said on Monday while a d d r e ssi n g t h e 7 5 t h Foundation Day of Odia
d a i l y P r a j a t a n tr a a t Jawaharlal Indoor stadium here. He said Odisha’s daughter Droupadi Murmu is now in the top constitutional post of the country. All poor and tribal people of the country should feel proud of her achievements. The Union Minister said the Construction Assembly had representation from all states from all over the country, But not a single tribal woman was in the Constitutional Assembly. But this was filled up with Droupadi Murmu, who comes from the poorest of the poor of a tribal family from Odisha to become the President of India, he said. The Union Education Minister, the Railway Minister, the Tribal Welfare Minister and the RBI Governor are all from Odisha which the state has never seen such representation after independence, Shah claimed. The Union Minister said maintaining good coordination between the centre and the state, Team India can chalk out a plan for the development of the country and the state which is always the effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shah said Lord Jaganath binds the whole country from the East to the West with a sense of devotion. Whenever “I leave the coast of West and lands in East I always bow before Lord Jaganath before setting his foot on land”. A feeling of “Bhakti bhav” influences me whenever I land in Odisha, this is the land of Lord Jagannath, Shah said. Before addressing the function he appealed to the huge gathering at the Indoor Stadium, to join him to chant ‘’ Jai Jagannath.’’He offered rich tribute to all freedom fighters for their contribution to the freedom struggle. The Union Minister lauded the contribution of Herekrsuhna Mahtab in the freedom struggle of the country and his paper “Prajatantra” serving the society through his regular columns in the paper. He said in 1947 Sardar Patel had given a big responsibility to Harekrushna Mahatab to unite the people and the society which he did so meticulously through his works and writings in Prajatantra. The paper, he said, had played a vital role in shaping society and helping mankind. Shah unveiled the picture postcard designed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Prajatantra.
