Puri: The process for the much-awaited Sree jaganatha Medical College Hospital in Puri begins today. The tree cutting has begun in the four-and-a-half-acre Baliguhali village forest in front of the medical college. The land is in the name of Dhaneshwar Nayak ans Jatadhari Jena of Baliguhali village. The land was owned by the villagers in the 1927 settlement, and in the 1977 settlement, it was filed in the court of the sub-district commissioner, which was illegally located. The deputy district collector’s office said in a statement that the situation was stable.
The process has been accelerated following the Chief Minister’s announcement for the hospital. The construction work of the hospital was supported by the villagers, while the sub district commissioner informed that the work has started from today. The land has about ten thousand acacia trees.
