Open Defecation Free: Odisha Ranked Among Top Five States

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been ranked among top five performing States of the country where maximum number of villages have been declared as Open Defecation Free Plus. Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G), the flagship p r o g r a m m e o f t h e Government of India, has recorded another milestone – of 101462 villages declaring themselves as ODF (open defecation free) Plus, the Ministry of Jal Shakti said. Odisha along with Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh are the top five performing States where maximum number of villages have been declared as ODF Plus. Odisha is promoting hygiene and safe sanitation and improving quality of life of people, the CMO said.
