Two day Bharat bandh partially hit normal life in Odisha

 A two-day nationwide strike called by a joint forum of central trade unions in protest against Union government policies hit normal life partially in some parts of Odisha on Monday. Sources said the vehicular movement and public transport in many parts of Odisha were affected due to the picketing by bandh supporters at various places on the state and national highway besides bus stops. East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said the agitators squatted on the track at two places but the movement of trains was not affected by the agitation in the state. Buses were off the road at many places and business establishments were also closed at several places.In the state capital passengers were seen stranded at the bus stop as the private bus operators joined the agitation.Auto-rickshaws were also off the road.Petrol pumps were also closed at many places as the demonstrators picketed before the fuel stations The authorities of Utkal University and Rama Devi Women’s University had postponed the examinations scheduled to be held on March 28 and 29 in view of the Bharat Bandh. All examinations also scheduled to be held at Ravenshaw University on Monday have been postponed . Reports reaching the state capital said hundreds of vehicles were found stranded on the -National Highway due to picketing by the bandh supporters. The functioning in the banks was also hit in the state as the All India Bank Employees Association extended its support to the two nationwide stir
