Kolhapur : Altogether 99.78 per cent of total 3,647 members cast their votes in general election of the Kolhapur District Milk Producers Association, popularly known as Gokul Dairy, in the district on Sunday.
According to a report, out of total 3,647 members, 3,639 voters, including 887 women, that is 99.78 per cent, exercised their franchise to elect 21 directors on the board of Gokul Dairy.
There is a straight fight between the ruling front, led by Congress MLA P N Patil and former MLC Mahadevrarao Mahadik, and the Rajarshi Shahu Aghadi, led by three state minister including Satej Patil, Hasan Mushrif and Rajendra Patil-Yadravkar, which is supported by Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Mandlik and Vinay Kore.
The counting of votes will be held on May 4.
