Kendujhar,: Every place in Keonjhar district attracts tourists. Along with the cool and
natural environment of the district, the forest hills, fountains, rivers, gorges, countless natural waterfalls, dams and religious destinations like temples, monasteries etc. attract and fascinate tourists. Out of these, 16 tourist spots have been given the status of the
tourism department, while now 7 more have been given the status. As a result, the number of tourist centers in the district tourism map has reached 23.The newly recognized tourist centers are Tenteinali waterfalls in Telkoi block, Giridibandh waterfalls in Banspal block, Kaijoda waterfalls in Jhumpura block, Kainjhar waterfalls and Barhatipura Shiva temple in Ghatgaon block, the scenic Dargadishila on the banks
of Baitarani river in Anandpur block and Dabarchua dam in Patna block.Earlier Sanaghagara, Badaghagara and Khandadhar waterfalls located in the Banspal block of the district, Kesharikunda in Champua block located on the banks of Baitarani river, Gundichaghagi waterfall on river Musal in Ghatagaon block, Handibhanga waterfall and Murga Mahadev temple and waterfall in Joda block, Kanjipani Ghati with natural beauty, Maa Tarini temple and Sitabinjha rich in historical and mythological history of
Ghatgaon block, Brahmaswar Mahesh temple near the source of Baitarani river at Gonsika in Banspal block, Kushaleswar Mahadev temple at Deogaon in Ghasipura block, Chakratirth Shaktipeeth and Hadagarh Dam in Hatadihi block, Raghunath Jew temple and Bhimkund waterfalls located on the banks of Baitarani river in Patna block have got the tourist destination status. Efforts have been made by the Tourism Department and
the local administration for the development of those spots.The Odisha government has written letter to all the district collectors recognizing 20 new tourists spots in the state including 7 Keonjhar district. Earlier, the district administration had submitted a report containing all the information about these centers to give tourist center status. ” Now, the tourism tourism as well as District administration can be developed after getting the recognition. This will attract more tourists to the district. These centers will be developed in phases keeping in mind the needs. After this the total number of tourists
