Jaipur: Preparations are being made
for vaccination of children of age group 15 to 18
years in Rajasthan.
Director Vacccine project Dr Raghunath Singh
said preparations are being made to vacccinate
other Sections as well as adolescents in the state.
The vaccination of children in the age group of 15
to 18 years will start from January 3 across the
country. In this campaign, a dose of co-vaccine
made by Bharat Biotech Company will be used. The registration for this will start from January 1.
A target has been set to vaccinate 46 lakh 51 thousand children in the age group of 15-18 years in the state.
Central Government has extracted this figure on the basis of the data released from the Registrar General
of India.
At the same time, those people of the age group of 60 years or more who are sick, they will get
precautionary dose from January 10. The number of such people has been fixed at 13 lakh 66 thousand
600 in Rajasthan. However, at present the total number of people of this age group in the state is more
than 73 lakh 40 thousand.
For Precautionary dose (booster), the beneficiary will need to attach a doctor’s written certificate or any
document. But it has not been made mandatory in the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry.
Vaccines can be given by registering people of these age groups on the spot. The third dose or say
precautionary dose can be administered only to those persons, whose time intervention between first and
second dose has been 9 months or 39 weeks.
Apart from the age group of more than 60 years, a campaign of precautionary dose will also be conducted
for health and frontline workers from January 10. There are 5 lakh 88 thousand 779 health workers in the
