Four Maoists, on whom rewards were announced, have been capitulated at the Police Superintendent’s office in this restive district of Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division, police said on Saturday. The rebels who returned to the mainstream late Friday were identified as Muchaki Sopda aka Nirmal, Muchaki Somdi aka Somey – both carried bounties of Rs 3 lakhs each – Madwi Mudra and Podiyam Ramesh (INR 2 lakhs each). SP Sunil Sharma disbursed incentive of INR 10,000 each and assured that the foursome would benefit under the government’s rehabilitation policy. Sopda hails from Ategatta village in Errabore Police Station limits and was active as “Press Team Commander” in the “North Bastar Division”. His spouse Somdi was a team member. Mudra was a resident of Konta block’s Dabbakota and Ramesh is from Mehta village.
