Thiruvananthapuram : With five more people have tested positive to the Zika virus, the infection tally rose to 28 in Kerala, Health Minister Veena George said on Thursday.
Four women — two from Anayara, one from Kizhakkekottam and another from Kunnukuzhy, and a man from Pattom have been identified with the virus infection.
Earlier, for the first time in Kerala, a 24 year old pregnant woman tested positive for Zika virus. Later, she recovered within six days and gave birth to a healthy baby at a private hospital, KIMSHEALTH, here.
Zika virus disease is a new occurrence in the state now grappling with the Covid pandemic.
