Lucknow, Apr 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Yogi Adityanath and former chief minister and Samajwadi president Akhilesh Yadav tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
“On getting the initial symptoms, I got Covid checked and my report came back positive. I am in self-isolation and fully following the consultation of physicians. I am doing all tasks virtually. Meanwhile, all those who have come in contact with me must get tested and take precaution,” Mr Adityanath wrote in Hindi on his official Twitter account.
On Tuesday, the 48-year-old chief minister has isolated himself after several of his officers were detected positive of COVID-19.
Mr Yadav, informed about his report by tweeting, “Just now my corona test report came positive. I have isolated myself and treatment has begun at home. Those who have come in contact with me in the last few days, I request them to get tested and remain in isolation for a few days.”
The 47-year-old former chief minister got Covid test conducted on Tuesday after several seers in Haridwar, whom he had met, have tested for positive.
State Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon has also been found to be Covid infected. State agriculture minister Surya Pratap Sahi is having Covid symptoms and being admitted to a hospital in Lucknow.
