Tight security ahead of Navratras in Jammu region

Jammu, Sep 25 (Dumanimail) Tight security has been put in place across the Jammu region for the nine days Navratras starting from Monday.

However, Katra Navratras festival will also be organised from tomorrow jointly by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Department of Tourism and Division Administration.

The Shrine Board has made special arrangements for smooth facilitation of pilgrims.

“Security has been heightened in the town besides along 13-km track and Bhawan,” said an official.

He said that apart from deployment of troops, CCTVs will be acting as watch dogs enroute Bhawan.

“Due to Covid pandemic, the yatra remained affected and it was first time in the history in 2020, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine was shut for devotees,” he added.

However, the official said that huge rush is expected this Navratras for which all arrangements, facilities are in place.

The one-kilometer of Bhawan is beautifully illuminated and decorated with special flowers and fruits.

This Navratras, on the directions of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also the chairman of the Shrine Board, free pony and battery car service will be provided to Divyang devotees.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta will inaugurate the nine-day Katra Navratra festival.

Programs like Shobha Yatra, All India Devotional Song Competition, food stalls, Prabhat Pheri, Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, Ramlila, Mata Rani ki Katha, Jagran, programs for children with disabilities, light and sound laser show are among few programmes to be organised during the festival.

Meanwhile, security has also been placed at Kali Temple, locally known as ‘Mata Bawe Wali’ temple located in Bahu Fort, Jammu.

Police personnel are deployed in and around the temple to prevent any untoward like incident.
