New Delhi : Three gangsters, including under trial Jitendra Gogi, were killed in a gunfight in a crowded local court here on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred in Rohini court when Gogi was being produced before a judge, police sources said. Two assailants, believed to be from rival gang and dressed as lawyers, opened fired at the gangster, killing him on the spot.
Delhi Police personnel accompanying the gangster reacted swiftly killing both the assailants.
According to eyewitnesses, over 20 rounds were fired, creating fear at the premises.
“In a swift action by a police team in launching counter fire on two assailants who were in lawyers’ attire and attacked Jitendra, both assailants died along with Gogi,” Chinmoy Biswal, PRO, Delhi Police, said.
