Bhubaneswar: The NaveenPatnaik-led Odisha governmenton Friday announced a four per
cent hike in dearness allowance(DA) and dearness relief (TI) forgovernment employees and
pensioners, coinciding with thecommencement of Durga Pujafestivities in the state. “The
state government announcesrelease of 4 per cent additionaldose of DA and TI in favour of
government employees andpensioners respectively toenhance the rate from 42% to
46%,” a CMO release said. Theenhanced DA and TI will be paidfrom July 2023, retrospectively,
and benefit 4.5 lakh governmentemployees and 3.5 lakhpensioners, it added. Thiscomes two days after the Union
Cabinet approved a 4 per centhike in dearness allowance forcentral government employeesand pensioners effective July2023, in accordance with theaccepted formula, based on therecommendations of the 7thCentral Pay Commission.
