Stalin launches Kalloori Kanavu prog for students

Chennai, June 25 (UNI) In yet another pioneering initiative, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today launched the Kalloori Kavavu (college dreams) programme under the ‘Naan Mudhalvan” initiative. The progamme aims to guide and counsel students who have completed Class XII and pursuing their higher education like engineering, arts and science, medicine law and other courses. At an event held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in the city, about 5,000 students from government and government-aided schools participated.

The programme would help students realise the higher educational options available for them in various educational institutions and how to choose them, an official release said. The Kalloori Kanavu scheme would be held in all districts on June 29 to July 2. In a letter to all District Collectors, Chief Secretary V.Irai Anbu said the government was committed to offer guidance to the students on the different options available, colleges to choose from, courses to pursue, entrance exams, education loans and scholarships. The day-long event will be organised in all the districts with sessions on engineering, medicine, allied sciences and life sciences, arts and science, commerce and accountancy, law, veterinary, agriculture, fisheries, government jobs, bank loans, assistance and scholarships, he said.
