Sensex up over 400 pts

Mumbai, July 5 (Dumanimail) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday surged 409.13 points at 53,643.90 as buying was seen across the board. The Nifty too rose 120 points at 15,955.50. The Sensex registered days high and low at 53,657.41 and 53,437.98 points respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 15,963.80 and 15,891.55 points respectively. The Mid Cap rose by 0.54 per cent and Small Cap by 0.90 per cent. In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined. The gainers were Powergrid by 2.09 per cent to Rs 215.05, Bajaj Finserv by 2.03 per cent to Rs 11,613.05, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.96 per cent to Rs 4451.15, Tata Steel by 1.81 per cent to Rs 870.05 and Tech Mahindra by 1.54 per cent to Rs 1015.80. The losers were ITC by 0.41 per cent to Rs 290.60 and M & M by 0.21 per cent to Rs 1083.80.
