Mumbai, Aug 16 (Dumanimail) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday rallied 314.21 pts at 59,828.99 in opening session as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty too rose 105.85 pts at 17,764.05.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 59,864.64 and 59,673.96 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,808.45 and 17,764.05 pts respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up 0.61 pc and Small Cap by 0.51 pc.
In 30 scrips, 26 advanced, 2 declined while 2 remained unchanged.
The gainers were M& M by 2.27 pc to Rs 1288.25, Asian Paints by 1.60 pc to Rs 3480.80, Axis Bank by 1.29 pc to Rs 770.25 and Nestle India Ltd by 1.23 pc to Rs 19,766.40.
The losers were NTPC by 0.66 pc to Rs 157.50 and Tata Steel by 0.62 pc to Rs 111.95.
