Sensex recovers 85.88 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on,Monday recovered 85.88 points at 61,308.91 on the strength of Auto, Utensils, Power and Realty stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE)too rose by 52.35 points to 18,308.10.
See saw trend was seen during the day, as the Sensex opened weak at 61,219.64, it fell 4 pts. It dropped nearly 116 points to 61,107.60, the days low.
Later, it erased earlier losses and jumped 162 per cent at 61,385.48 the days high, before closing at 61,308.91, up 85.88 points from its previous close.
The Sensex registered the days high and low at 61,385.48 and 61,107.60 respectively.
The Nifty recorded days the high and low at 18,321.55 and 18,228.75 respectively.
The sectoral indices that pushed the market up were Auto, Utilities, Power and Realty stocks.
In scrips, Ultracemco was a top gainer, up by 2.75 per cent to Rs 7866.10 followed by M& M by 2.45 per cent to Rs 902.50, Maruti Suzuki by 2.08 per cent to Rs 8250, Tata Steel by 1.49 percent to Rs 1231.40 and TCS by 1.40 per cent to Rs 4024.85.
The losers were HCL Technology by 5.76 per cent to Rs 1260.50, HDFC Bank by 1.34 per cent toRs 1524.50, Axis Bank by 1.90 per cent to Rs 712.20 and Tech Mahindra by 0.99 per cent to Rs1722.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.23 pc and Small Cap by 0.61 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
Mixed trend was seen in Asian Market. Nikkei and Taiwan gained 0.7 per cent each.
Shanghai was up 0.6 per cent. While, Kospi and Hang Seng declined by 1.1 and 0.7 per cent respectively.
