Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Thursday fell 164.43 points to 60,985.61 asselling was seen in IT, Telecom, Auto and Bankex stocks.
The Nifty too eased 10.90 points to 18,201.45.
Though, the Sensex opened higher by over100 points, it immediately went in the red.
At the moment it was trading at 60,985.61, sliding by 164 points.
The Sensex registered the days high and low at 61,348.57 and 60,949.81 points respectively.
The Nifty registered the days high and low at 18,272.25 and 18,163.80 points respectively.
The Mid Cap moved fell 0.19 per cent and Small Cap by 0.05 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 13 advanced, 16 declined and one remained unchanged.
The losers were Wipro by 6.02 per cent to Rs 649.75, HCL Technology by 2.17 per cent to Rs1321.70, HDFC Bank by 1.48 per cent to Rs 1533.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.26 per cent to Rs1707.10 and Axis Bank by 0.93 per cent to Rs 939.70.The gainers were Tata Steel by 4.30 per cent to Rs 1196.50, Sun Pharma by 3.86 per cent to Rs868.50, Power grid by 2.64 per cent to Rs 210.25 and NTPC by 1.27 per cent to Rs 135.55.
