Sensex crosses 60K to 60,223.15 pts

Mumbai: Maintaining rally forthe fourth straight session on Wednesday, theBSE Sensex advanced 367.22 points to closeat 60,223.15 following gains in Bajaj finance,Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Bank and Axis Bank.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE)too rose by 120 pts at 17,925.25.
The Sensex moved up 66 pts to open at59,921.98. During the day, it edged up 477 pts at 60,332.72, days high, before closing at60,223.15, advancing 367.22 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it fell 194 pts to 59,661.38, days low.
The Sensex registered day’s high and low at 60,332.72 and 59,661.38 respectively.
The Nifty recorded the day’s high and low at 17,944.70 and 17,748.85 respectively.
In sectoral indices, Bajaj Finserv was a star gainer, up by 2.43 pc followed by Metal, Realty,Finance and Materials stocks.
In scrips, Bajaj Finserv spurted 4.99 pc at Rs 17,966.30 a major gainer in 30 scrips of BSE.
Other gainers were Bajaj Finance by 4.43 pc to Rs 7667.70, Kotak Bank by 3.45 pc to Rs 1917,Axis Bank by 2.45 pc to Rs 726 and Tata Steel by 2.40 pc to Rs 1176.50.
The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.71 pc to Rs 1739, Infosys by 2.51 pc to Rs 1848.60, HCLTechnology by 1.65 pc to Rs 1312, Powergrid by 1.09 pc to Rs 208.20 and Wipro by 1.07 pc to Rs713.70.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.36 pc while Small Cap fell by 0.08 pc.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 12 declined.
A negative trend was seen in Asian Market as Australia ASX All Ordinaries down by 0.34 pcfollowed by Shanghai SE Composite by 1.02 pc, Hang Seng of Hong Kong by 1.64 pc and Taiwanby 0.14 pc.
