Mumbai, Aug 1 (Dumanimail) The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied 297 points at 57,868.03 as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty too gained 93.10 points at 17,251.35.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 57,878.75 and 57,540.36 points respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,263.15 and 17,154 points respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up 0.78 per cent and Small Cap by 0.88 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined.
The gainers were M&M by 6.02 per cent to Rs 1,234.85; Maruti Suzuki by 3.16 per cent to Rs 9,050; Bharti Airtel by 2.14 per cent to Rs 692.40; Reliance Industries by 1.64 per cent to Rs 2,549.85 and Powergrid by 1.45 per cent to Rs 217.10.
The losers were Sun Pharma by 2.52 per cent to Rs 919.75; IndusInd Bank by 1.36 per cent to Rs 1,029; Hind Unilever by 0.66 per cent to Rs 2,619.36 and Tata Steel by 0.60 per cent to Rs 107.
