PM reviews Covid-19 situation in the country

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a review meeting on Covid-19 situation in view of the rapid surge of infection in the country.
The meeting was digitally attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the Aviation Secretary, the Home Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary among others, sources said.
According to the Health Ministry’s Covid-19 dashboard data on Sunday morning, the country reported a total of 1,59,632 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the highest single day tally in 224 days.
More than 400 staff of Parliament have also tested positive for Coronavirus after screenings were conducted on Jan 6 and Jan 7.
Meanwhile, sources said that Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will also interact with western state health ministers on Monday over the Covid-19 situation at 3.30 pm
