PM Modi to hold review meeting on Oxygen, medicine supply with experts today

New Delhi : Amid continued crisis in supply of Oxygen and medicines in numerous hospitals here, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold review meeting on the supply of the life saving gas and other important components in Covid management with experts on Sunday.

NITI Aayog Member Dr VK Paul and senior Government officials of the Union Home and Health Ministries will be participating in this meeting.

According to the officials, PM Modi will take stock of the situation of oxygen availability, medicines, health infrastructure in the country amid the devastating second surge of the covid-19 pandemic.

He is likely to discuss logistics issues in supply of medical oxygen and also to review the efforts taken by the Indian Air Force and Indian Railways and its augmentation.

Despite all efforts of the Government to sort out the crisis, the shortage of Oxygen continues and on Saturday 22 Covid patients, including two senior doctors, died at Batra Hospital in Delhi.

Following the incident, the Delhi High Court took a stern view on Oxygen crisis and directed the Government to sort it out at the earliest.
