Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with BJP workers in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, ahead of assembly elections inUttar Pradesh.
Interacting through the Namo App, Modireaffirmed the BJP’s commitment towards development, a statement shared on hiswebsite said.
The newly developed Kashi Vishwanath corridor featured prominently in the discussions. Modialso discussed issues like women empowerment, infrastructure and healthcare development.
The Prime Minister asked party workers to expand the reach of the government’s welfareschemes to farmers. “They should make farmers aware of the use of chemical-free fertilisers,” hesaid.
Modi also talked about the several schemes which he said were benefiting the people ofVaranasi.
“The NaMo App has a very interesting section known as ‘Kamal Pushp’ that gives you theopportunity to share and know about inspiring party karyakartas,” he said.
The interaction comes ahead of elections to the 403-member Assembly in Uttar Pradesh whichwill be held in seven phases from February 10. This was Modi’s first public appearance here afterthe elections were announced.
