Physical classes for class I to VII in Odisha likely to commence before New year

Bhubaneswar : Odisha government is considering to start classroom teachings from Class 1 to VII in phases before the New Year, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said today.

Mr Dash who is on a tour to Sambalpur told newspersons that the government is planning to resume offline classes for the students of Class VI and VII after Diwali.

A date for the resumption of classes is likely to be announced any day after Diwali, he said.

The government, Mr Dash said, is considering starting the physical classes for Class 1 to V later. The process for starting the physical classes is on and a decision would be announced soon.

Physical classes for Class VIII to XII have already resumed in the state. The Classroom teaching for Class XI and VII commenced on October 21 and October 25, 2021, respectively. Classes for students of X and XII started on July 26 last.

The minister said the government would appoint 16,000 teachers either in the last week of November or in the first week of December next to fill up the teacher’s posts lying vacant in various schools.
