Bhubaneswar,: To achieve the goal of a ‘Vikasita Odisha’, adequate access to diversified financial services to all households in the state is required. Due to lack of large number of branches, the services of banks are not particularly accessible in rural and remote areas. In this context, the role of microfinance institutions in the state is very crucial. More than 80 micro finance institutions, banks, financial institutions are functioning in the state with 46 Lakh women entrepreneurs having outstanding loans of Rs 21,797 Cr. Out of them 71 percent of women are living in rural and inaccessible areas. These data were shared by the speakers at the 6th State Level Financial Inclusion Conclave held at the East Coast Railway
Auditorium, Bhubaneswar Odisha. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Pramod Kumar, General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank (SIDBI)- and Mr. Dibyajyoti Pattanaik- President, OSAFII Mr. Narendra Nayak, Chief Executive Officer of OSAFII, presented the Institute’s annual achievements. Among others Mr. Habib SahikVice President of MFIN, Dr. Saibul Paul- Director of Sa-Dhan, Mr. Pradyumna Kumar Choudhury-DGM – SIDBI, Mr. Anoj Kumar Pradhan- FI Advisor at OLM/ Mission Shakti, Mr. Alok Pattanayak- Vice President of Share India Fincap Pvt Ltd., and Mr. Gobind Dash- Vice President of OSAFII, were the keynote speakers and spoke about the role of various institutions in financial inclusion. Digital finance, Skill Development and Development of small businesses with reference to microfinance lending were discussed in two sessions at the conference. 600 women entrepreneurs from 30 districts of Odisha participated in the program and 30 successful women entrepreneurs were honored.At the end Mr. Ashish Kumar Das and Mr. Jugal Kishore Pattanayak- Board members of OSAFII, expressed their thanks.
