Odisha HC nod for New Court Complex at Paradip

Paradip : In a significant development for the port town of Paradip, the Odisha High Court has granted formal approval for the establishment of a new court complex.
The move fulfills a long-pending demand to bolster judicial infrastructure in this critical industrial and economic hub. The sanctioned complex will house courts for an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) and a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC). This is expected to significantly ease access to justice for the local population and the numerous industries operating in the region, who previously had to travel long
distances for court matters.  The breakthrough is widely attributed to the persistent
efforts of Paradip’s MLA and State Minister for Industry, Skill Development & Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain. Minister Swain has been actively pursuing this project with the state government and the judiciary. Speaking on the development, Minister Swain said, “This is a crucial step for Paradip’s overall development. The state government is committed to providing all necessary support, including infrastructure and resources, to ensure the court becomes operational at the earliest.” Echoing the sentiment, Paradip Municipality Chairman Basant Biswal assured full cooperation from the municipal administration in facilitating the establishment. In recognition of his efforts, a delegation from the Paradip Bar Association, led by its President and AGA,
Odisha High Court Tapan Kumar Dash, met Minister Swain to express their gratitude.
The delegation included Basant Biswal, vice president, Ravindra Kumar Jena, secretary, Golak Bihari Sutar, treasurer, executive member Sanjay Kumar Mishra of Paradip Bar Association other office bearers who have been advocating for this cause for years.
This achievement is seen as part of Minister Swain’s broader focus on the development of his constituency since assuming office. His tenure has also witnessed the revival of the Tirtol Spinning Mill and the approval for a hi-tech medical facility in the district, marking a series of infrastructural wins for the region. The legal community and residents have welcomed the news, anticipating that it will bring the wheels of justice closer to home and enhance the ease of living and doing business in Paradip.
