Odisha CM Praises ‘KashiTamil Sangam’ as Symbol Of India’s Cultural Harmony

Bhubaneswar, : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today participated in the Kashi-Tamil Sangam 3.0 program held in Varanasi. According to an official press release, Majhi stated that the Kashi-Tamil Sangam is a unique example of India’s cultural heritage and unity. The Chief Minister emphasized that while the languages, traditions, and customs of different regions of India may vary, the mutual love, harmony, and spiritual ethos of all Indians remain the same. This cultural unity, he said, makes India distinct from other nations. “We are all integral parts of the great Indian
cultural heritage, bound together by this shared consciousness,” he added. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Kashi-Tamil Sangam program in 2022 to strengthen and promote India’s cultural unity. This year, the event is being held at Namo Ghat in Varanasi from 15th February. During today’s program, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar and Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Anil Rajbhar. The Chief Minister expressed his pride in participating in the event, stating, “The spiritual ‘ connection between Kashi and Tamil Nadu is ancient. Kashi is not just a city; it is a symbol of India’s eternal spiritual traditions. Similarly, Tamil Nadu’s classical language, literature, magnificent temples, and philosophical traditions have enriched Indian culture. The Kashi-Tamil Sangam is a testament to our unity in diversity.” He further highlighted that Odisha also embodies the essence of Indian cultural thought. Devotees from all corners of the country visit the Shree Jagannath Temple, and people of all religions and cultures participate in the grand Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. The Shree Jagannath culture has played a significant role in spreading this great Indian spiritual ethos.
