Odisha Cabinet Approves 13 Major Proposals

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved 13 major proposals of 10 departments. This has been informed by Pradeep Kumar Amat, Minister, PR, DW, FE& CC, I& PR and Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena in a press briefing after the Cabinet meeting. The 68th Cabinet Meeting was held in the 3rd Floor Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Briefing the media on the Cabinet decisions, chief secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena said the General Administration and Public Grievances department had mooted the proposal to raise the upper age limit for OCS examinations to provide more opportunities to the candidates to appear at the OCS examinations. The new rule will come into force in 2024. The Odisha Government has decided to organise Gram Panchayat-level awareness camps under the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ initiative in 6,794 GPs of the State. A proposal regarding the awareness camp from Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department has been approved by the State Cabinet at its 68th meeting today. For inclusive Development of Rural Odisha, the State Government had earlier launched the initiative “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha”. To carry forward the transformative journey of Rural Odisha, it is necessary to build upon the current initiatives to augment rural infrastructure leading to accelerated growth as well as preserve the rich cultural heritage of the State. Under the AONO intervention, inclusive development of rural Odisha will be prepared at the GP level which will include the development of the Primary Schools, Religious, Community Based Projects, Mission Shakti Gruha, and Miscellaneous including digital transformation projects Under the plan, Local felt need-based projects shall be taken up by convening GP Level meetings with local people/community organisations/public representatives /line Department Officials and other stakeholders etc. The shelf of projects will be received from the inhabitants of concerned GP, PRI Members, SHG members, members of various community organizations, line Department Officials etc. shall be compiled in consultation with GP and shall be placed in the GP level meeting for finalization. After finalization, the plan will be submitted to PR & DW Department for Government approval. The timeline for the conduct of the GP level meeting will be from 15th January to 1st week of February 2024. Apart from finalisation of the Plan in the GP level meeting, IEC activities will be taken up on various schemes of the Government for generating awareness among the people. An amount of Rs. 3 lakhs per GP for 6794 GPs will be provided for the preparation of the plan and IEC activities. The total requirement of funds will be Rs. 203.82 crores for conducting of these activities. Preparation of the plan is under the initiative of ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha”. For this, the approved budget of Rs. 4000 Crore is enhanced to Rs. 4200 Crore. Earlier, the state government had increased the upper age limit from 32 to 38 for the advertisements made during 2021, 2022 and 2023 for entry into government service. Besides this, the Cabinet approved 13 proposals at the meeting. Major proposals that were approved: Allotment of land to Public Health Foundation of India for establishment of a permanent campus of Indian Institute of Public Health at Bhubaneswar. Procurement of 200 new e-buses to be added to the fleet of MO Bus by CRUT to strengthen urban mobility in Capital Region of Bhubaneswar. LED street lights in 110 Urban Local Bodies with an estimated cost of Rs 312.18 crore. Amendment of Odisha Information & Public Relations Technical and Non-Technical Service (Method of Recruitment and conditions of service) Amendment Rules, 2023. Amendment of Odisha Fire Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Group C Officers) Rules 2021. New cadre rules named as Odisha Lower Excise Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Assistant Sub-inspector of Excise) Rules, 2023. Odisha Treasury Ministerial Service (Method of Recruitment and Condition of Service) Rules, 2023 and Odisha SubOrdinate Finance (Treasury Branch) Rules, 2023 framed to regulate the recruitment and condition of service of Treasury Ministerial Cadre
