Nitin Gadkari inaugurates 4 Lane section in Goa

Panaji : Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday inaugurated the four-lane section from Loutolim village to IDC, Verna.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the four-lane section would facilitate in enhancing the economic activity of software, pharmaceutical, electronics and other industries located in the industrial estate at Verna.

Along with this, better connectivity would be available for cashew and spice fields to agricultural markets, which would improve the livelihood of farmers, added the Minister.

He said the Mumbai-Goa multi-lane highway project would be completed within one-and-a-half year.

Mr Gadkari said he had agreed to almost all the requests made by the MLAs and MPs from Goa for the development of the state.

The Union Minister said the bridge being constructed over Zuari bridge in Goa would be made more attractive than the Eiffel Tower, which would bring more tourists to the state.

He said one lane of the bridge would be inaugurated before the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, his Cabinet colleagues and MLAs, among others, were present on the occasion.

The four lane section on National Highway 566 is 3.84-km-long and has been constructed at the cost of Rs 184.05 crore.
