Puri, : Justice Harish Tandon is the new Chief Justice of The High Court in Puri, Odisha. Before the swearing-in ceremony, he went to the shrine and had darshan of the Lord at
Ratna singhhan and offered prayers. He also offered prayers at the temple of Maa Mahalakshmi and prayed for her blessings. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the presence of puri SP Binit Agarwal, District Collector Sidhartha Sankar Swani and senior officials of the temple administration. Justice Harish Tandon was appointed as the new Chief Justice of Odisha by the President of India on April 21. He will hold the charge of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh. Justice Harish Tandon will be sworn in
as the Chief Justice of The Orissa High Court on Wednesday. Harish Tandon was appointed as a judge of the Calcutta High Court on April 13, 2010. In the list of seniority of all India high court judges, Justice Harish is at the seventh position. He is also the seniormost judge of the Calcutta High Court. Before his promotion, he was trying the Civil Court case in the Calcutta High Court.
