Naveen Inaugurates School by Emami & KISS

Bhubaneswar, June 13: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated the Balasore branch of The Kalinga Institute of Socia lSciences (KISS) Emami-KISS Residential School through virtual mode.The school has been setup on 12 acres of land with an investment of Rs50 crore. While KISS has provided Rs 36 crore EMAMI has given Rs 14 crore for the setting up of
the school. The Emami-KISS is a fully free residential school. In the first phase, the school will have the strength of 1200 students from standard-1 to standard-12 and provide quality education to poor and underprivileged children under the CBSE curriculum.Inaugurating the School the Ch i e f M i n ist e r s a i d Education is the most powerful medium and brings the biggest transformation in one’s life. The state government has given more importance to e d u c a t i o n a n d i s transforming the schools under the 5Tprogramme. ”More than four thousand high schools have been transformed as of today. It has created interest among students,” the CM said as he addressed the gathering. He said that KISS has opened its branches in various districts along with KISS- Bhubaneswar. KISS has taken initiative to open free residential schools for poor and underprivileged tribal children in 30 districts of Odisha. This would strengthen our initiative to give quality education to allchildren. He appreciated the joint initiative of Emami and KISS. Odisha Minister, Tourism of Od i a La n g u a g e , Literature & Culture, Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida also spoke on the occasion. In his welcome address, Dr Samanta said, the new residential school has c ome upon a sprawling eco-friendly and Wi-Fi green campus. An investment of Rs 50 crore was made for the acquisition of land, infrastructural development and the installation of a mechanized kitchen, a 25- bed hospital, furniture and fixtures and other facilities in the 1,20,000 square feet built-up area.
