Myanmarese celebrity jailed for participating in protests

Naypyidaw: A popular Myanmarese celebrity has been jailed for three years for participating in the protests against the military coup that took place in February.
Model cum actor Paing Takhon took part in anti-coup protests and had even condemned the government online.
Myanmar’s military seized power after claims of election fraud.
Since then, it has often dealt firmly with protests with a heavy hand.
Takhon was arrested in April, his legal advisor Khin Maung Myint was quoted by media sources as saying the celebrity has been sentenced to hard labour.
