Musk files suit against Twitter’s bid to fast-track trial

Washington, July 16 (Dumanimail) Tesla CEO Tesla Musk has formally responded to Twitter’s lawsuit and urged the court to reject the social media firm’s request for a short trial in next two months. The Washington Post quoted Musk as arguing on Friday that he has a right to leave the deal because the company didn’t give him enough information to figure out if its estimates about the number of spam bots on the platform are accurate. On Tuesday, Twitter had sued the Space X CEO to force him to complete the $44 billion acquisition deal.
Musk had accused Twitter f dragging its feet on giving him the data he wanted on bots and then asking for “warp speed” when it came to setting a trial date, The Washington Post reported.
His lawyers wrote in the filing: “The core dispute over false and spam accounts is fundamental to Twitter’s value. It is also extremely fact and expert intensive, requiring substantial time for discovery.”
It further said: “Musk was stunned to discover that Twitter’s process for identifying spam accounts relied on human reviewers. Musk quickly understood that management did not have a handle on the bot and spam issue.
However, Twitter argued that Musk had ” been acting in bad faith and every day that the uncertainty around the acquisition hangs over them, the more damage is done to the company.”
