New Delhi : The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 1400 hrs on Tuesday after the Opposition created a ruckus over myriad issues, including the Pegasus snooping row, inflation and farmers’ stir.
As soon as the House met at 1100 hrs, Members of the Congress and some other opposition parties stood on their seats and started raising slogans.
Urging them to maintain calm, Speaker Om Birla took up the Question Hour. While Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Chaudhary was responding to a question related to modern agriculture amid the din, some protesting Members rushed to the centre of the House flashing placards.
At this, Mr Birla once again urged them to resume their seats saying bringing placards in the House is against the rules. ‘Please stop sloganeering and displaying placards. Whatever issue you want to discuss, the government is ready for discussion,” he said.
As his continuous appeals fell on deaf ears, he adjourned the house till 1400 hrs.
