K’taka : Seven persons including son of TN MLA die in road mishap

Bengaluru : In a deadly accident, two members of the family of DMK MLA Y Prakash, along with four others died after their car crashed into an electric pole at Koramangala here early Tuesday.

Karuna Sagar (31) and Bindu (28), son and would-be-daughter-in-law of Prakash, were traveling in the Q3 Audi car, police said.

Other deceased have been identified as Ishita (21), Dr Danusha (21), Akahshay Goel, Utsav (23) and Rohit (23). They were residents of Kerala, Haryana, Karnataka (Hubballi) and Tamil Nadu, they said.

As many as six people died on the spot, another died on the way to a hospital, police said, adding that the four deceased are men and other three are women.

None of the deceased including the driver did not fasten the seat belts and the airbags did not unfold after the car crashed into the electric pole, they added.

Three were sitting in the front seat and four others were sitting at the rear seat, whereas the capacity of the car was for four passengers, police said.

The car belongs to Sanjivini Blue Metals company located at Hosur, which makes Halo bricks and M Sand, police said.

CCTV footage showed that the Audi car, driven at a very high speed hits the footpath first and then rams into the electric pole, completely damaging it.

It also showed the inner side and body of the car completely pulverized and even its wheels falling apart.
