Jammu : Extending a helping hand to a juvenile girl, Jammu Police on Friday shifted the abandoned girl to Child Welfare Committee here.
Station House Officer (SHO), Police Station, Gangyal, Raghubir Singh Choudhary, said that one Gopal Dass of Chattisgarh, presently living in Gangyal along with one Mangri Devi of Yahar Khand, also staying at Gangyal this morning produced one juvenile girl namely Sakshi Khajoor, resident of Khordpuro, District – Latehar, Jharkhand in Police Station Gangyal.
“The duo found the girl in train which was coming to Jammu and this girl mistakenly boarded the train,” said the SHO.
He said that in-charge Child welfare Committee was contacted and handed over girl to their custody.
Constable Fakkar Din and lady police personnel Parminder Kour were deputed to shift the girl to the Child Welfare Committee authorities after conducting the Covid 19 test.
Police however, also lauded the role of duo who brought the matter to the notice of the police and helping the needy.
