New York : External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar began his UN General Assembly meetings with a bilateral with Norway’s Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide and also held a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein.
During his meeting with the Norway Foreign Minister both had a comprehensive discussion on Afghanistan, and it was stressed that it is important for the international community to take a unified approach on the issue.
With the Iraqi Foreign Minister, the EAM held a cordial meeting, during which both discussed their historical ties, economic, energy and development cooperation linkages, and also exchanged views on regional and global issues.
“Began my #UNGA meetings with FM Ine Eriksen Søreide of Norway. Appreciated our working together in the Security Council.
“A comprehensive discussion on Afghanistan. Important for the international community to take a unified approach,” the EAM tweeted.
On his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, he tweeted: “A cordial meeting with FM Fuad Hussein of Iraq.
“Discussed our historical ties, economic, energy and development cooperation linkages.
“Exchanged views on regional and global issues.”
