Bhubaneswar, : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh spell of thunderstorms, lightning, and potential hailstorms across Odisha from April 26 to
April 30, offering relief from the ongoing heatwave in the state. On April 26, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30- 40 kmph are expected in the
afternoon or evening at isolated locations in Malkangiri, Ganjam, Koraput, and Mayurbhanj districts. For April 27, the IMD has issued an Orange warning for Koraput, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Bhadrak, forecasting
thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, and winds of 50-60 kmph in some areas. Additionally, thunderstorms with winds of 30-40 kmph are likely in Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Deogarh. On April 28, an Orange warning is in place for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Angul, Ganjam, Jajpur, Sundargarh, and Balasore, with thunderstorms, lightning, hailstorms, heavy rainfall, and winds of 50-60 kmph expected.
