New Delhi: In a new year gift to over 11 crore farmers across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer the next installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) on January 1, 2022, it was reported on Wednesday.
A financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal 4-monthly installments of Rs 2,000 each.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, more than 11.60 crore farmers have been given the financial benefits of about Rs 1.60 lakh crore through various installments.
Modi will also release equity grant to Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) as part of measures to double farmers’ income.
The Centre has approved and launched the central sector scheme of “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations(FPOs)” to form and promote 10,000 new FPOs till 2027-28 with a total budgetary outlay of Rs 6,865 crore.
“Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will release the next installment of PM-KISAN at 12 noon on January 1, 2022. Equity grant will also be released to Farmer Producer Organisations,” read a bulk message sent to farmers.
The message issued on behalf of Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has also urged the farmers to join the PM’s programme.
