Govt to issue SOP for obscene dance performances in Khandagiri Jatra

Bhubaneswar,: The government decided to put a check on the obscene dance performances in Khandagiri Jatra 2025. In this relation SOPs will be issued soon.The government will issue a Standard operating procedure (SOP) in this regard informed Minister Suryabansi Suraj. In a meeting held in the
presence of Jatra troupe committee and police administration on January 14, it was decided. The meeting, allowed dance performances given that there is modesty in it.This comes after people from
different walks of life especially the intellectuals and social activists demanded the ban of obscene dance performances.It is to be noted that Khandagiri Jatra 2025 will begin from Magha Saptami that is from February 6 and will continue till February 17. As many as 12 Jatra troupes will be performing in the opera.
