New Delhi : The government on Tuesday postpones the UGC NET exam that was scheduled to begin on May 2, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank informed.
“…Looking at the present situation of the COVID pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well being of the candidates and the examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the UGC-NET December 2021 cycle (May 2021) examination,” a National Testing Agency order shared by the Education Minister, read.
The order further read that candidates will be informed about the new exam date 15 days before the examination. Mr Pokhriyal requested all to stay safe and follow all necessary precautions for COVID-19.
All major national level examinations are being cancelled or postponed keeping in view the grim pandemic situation in the country. The country recorded 2,59,170 new Covid cases and 1,761 deaths in the last 24 hours.
