New Delhi: Geographic Information System (GIS) software and solutions provider, Esri India in partnership with AGNIi has announced ‘Geo Innovation 2022’ – an acceleration platform that aims to help start-ups leverage location intelligence technology to build new businesses.
“This programme will enable the brightest talents in India’s start-up community to build specialised businesses leveraging the power of mapping and location intelligence,” said Esri India Managing Director Agendra Kumar on Monday.
He further said that start-ups, aided by GIS technology and data, could develop solutions forcritical problems.
The GIS ecosystem in India has been growing steadily over the past few years. The liberalisation of geospatial data and the new drone policy have laid the foundation of a new geo-enabled era,which is opening a huge opportunity for start-ups.
“With this partnership with AGNii, we want to make location intelligence technology available to every start-up in India and pave way for its large-scale adoption,” Kumar added.
AGNIi mission head Rahul Nayar said that through ‘Geo Innovation 2022’ they would partner with the Indian geo spatial technology start-ups, enterprises and researchers, to explore how their innovators could transform enterprise, economy, and governance.
“AGNIi is excited to partner with Esri on the Geo Innovation 2022. This unique programme will ensure that the startups who are looking to create their own IP can add location intelligence and geo-enable their offering,” he said.
‘Geo Innovation 2022’ would be divided into three phases. The applications phase would be thefirst phase that will end on January 25. In the next phase, Esri India, technical guidance and business-focused mentor ship would be given to the selected participants. While in the last phase, participants will pitch their business proposition.
