A magistrate in Maharashtra ordered the employer of an aeronautical engineer earning a monthly salary of ₹5.5 lakh to deduct ₹1 lakh from his salary every month. The engineer had failed to pay his estranged wife interim monthly maintenance of ₹1 lakh despite a court order. The man owes the woman ₹30 lakh in interim maintenance arrears.
